Problem: Demonstrate ability of CCS-100 to insulate in a practical and easy to understand way Equipment: Copper pipe and Butane torch Goals: Demonstrate ability of CCS-10 to insulate materials by holding copper pipe coated with CCS-100. Solution: Coat pipe with CCS-100 and apply butane torch to other end while holding pipe. With an application of CCS-100 the heat transfer from pipe to hand is reduced enough that no burn occurs. The pipe surface temperature on the coated end is below the OSHA recommended 140 F, while the hot end is 321 F. |
