Problem: Significant energy losses through single pane windows and metal frames on plant roof
Equipment: Plant rooftop windows (7,400 SF)
Location: GM-Grand Blanc MFD, Grand Blanc, MI

Goals: 

  1. Stop energy loss through single pane glass & metal frames.

  2. Increase light level in plant (where panes have not been previously painted).

  3. Reduce or eliminate broken & falling glass.

Solution: Coat panes & frames with CCS-100


With an application of CCS-100:

  1. The coated windows have an equivalent R= 18±.
  2. CCS-100 reflects 92.8% of light thus increasing light levels in the plant if panes have not been previously painted.
  3. The bonding of CCS-100 with the glass reduces the chances of broken glass falling to the plant floor as CCS-100 holds pieces of broken glass together.
  4. CCS-100 allows about 50% of exterior light to enter plant through unpainted windows.
