Problem: Rain falling on customers in winter months in both entrance vestibules of Home Depot stores in Michigan along with significant energy losses due to un-insulated metal roofs.

Equipment: Roof

Location: Home Depot stores

Goals:

  1. Stop condensation generated rain from falling on customers in winter.

  2. Save energy.

Solution: Coat underside of roof decking with CCS-100 to stop condensation forming on underside of metal roof.

With an application of CCS-100:

  • The underside of the roof is insulated with CCS-100 to about R-20. This stops migration of cold through the metal roof in winter and eliminates the formation of interior rain that was falling on customers when they entered the store.

  • Insulated roof cuts energy consumption in both vestibule areas.
