Problem: Extreme corrosion
Equipment: Petroleum Refinery Equipment
Location: Marathon Refinery, Detroit, MI

Goals:
  1. Stop corrosion from airborne chemicals
  2. Insulate equipment
  3. Prevent hidden corrosion under insulation

Solution: Coat equipment with CCS-100

The test pieces coated at the refinery in 2002 showed no degradation after 2 years in place.

With an application of CCS-100:

  1. Corrosion protection is provided by CCS-100 for both low & high pH attacks.

  2. CCS-100 insulates equipment with very high R-values.

  3. Hidden corrosion is prevented because CCS-100 bonds to the substrate.

  4. The company is impressed with the product and has given CIS a blanket T & M contract for corrosion protection and insulation.
