Ceramcloth for Retrofit and General Application & Use

Ceramcloth Sheets

Cermacloth sheets are getting attention as an alternative to plants stocking multiple kinds of insulation and jacketing. Ceramcloth acts as both insulation and jacketing. Just cut to fit and install with ties or metal banding. It does not need to be jacketed and it is waterproof. CLICK HERE to read the Retrofit and New Insulation sheet which explains this idea more fully.

We have also learned that one of our customers put some 80 mil Ceramcloth on an ammonia line in his boiler room. The line, which runs at 5°F, was wrapped with Ceramcloth and all the joints were sealed with Silicone Sealer. They are pleased with the results and so are we. This is an application which we did not foresee, but are pleased to hear about.

Ceramcloth works on below-ambient equipment and pipes and, if properly sealed, does not absorb moisture or form ice balls.

Excellent insulation for damp or corrosive environments.

We have a customer that removed the soft insulation covers from a heat exchanger for maintenance, added a layer of 80 mil Ceramcloth to the outside of the pads to increase the soft cover's R-value.

Another has wrapped HVAC ducts and uses single sheets for heat shields in hot areas by hanging them between the heat source and their personnel.

If you or one of your customers comes up with a new or unusual use for Ceramcloth please share it with us.
